Trump: removing homeless by force

Homeless individuals will be given the option to leave their encampment, to be taken to a homeless shelter, to be offered addiction or mental health services, and if they refuse, they will be susceptible to fines or to jail time. One of a social media post about moving them very far outside of the city. Is that off? Nope, it’s not off. We’re exploring how we could do that. Um but again, homeless shelters, uh um offered addiction and mental health services, uh or jail if they refuse are the options on the table right now.

At the White House press briefing on Tuesday, Karoline Leavitt was asked about a recent announcement by President Trump that he would be removing all homeless from DC by force.

  4. Going to need a lot more jails and prisons built before we stop seeing America's unwanted people living in the streets. We've been imprisoning more folks than any other nation for a long time now already. This is NOT the way.

There is not enough beds for me people in rehabs for intakes and you have to go through a screening process you can’t just show up plus the homeless shelters are overwhelmed people start lining up early sometimes waiting all day to make sure you get in and that still won’t always secure you a spot … I wish they would do some research and actually speak to some of these people and develop some compassion and empathy. The fine makes no sense they are homeless- how can they pay this? It’s just putting them into a deeper hole with no light at the end of the tunnel.

  23. They need to build possibly Studio apartments for the people who are single, but here’s the key to everything making everything affordable. You can’t afford anything in this country. Everything went up, but people’s wages what they did to this country the last four years it’s probably gonna take eight to fix it. Cars are out of price range, but what were they trying to do make it so we couldn’t afford anything , but then they gave everything to the migrants ! Put them up in grand hotels because all they wanted was the VOTE The veterans ,elderly, single moms, all became homeless. The best part is at the state of Illinois we’re paying landlords more money to rent to them or paying their rent. All of this was done to try to turn this country socialist and for the vote and how do I know this I witnessed it with my own eyes. I finally found housing after almost 4 years homeless.

Fine the homeless… How about spending all that money for golf trips, flagpoles, and ballrooms to actually go to affordable housing… Most of these people are our veterans, families displaced, people suffering from mental illness. This administration has already gutted every program that would’ve helped these people. They’re just putting the problem on someone else. Forced treatment is unethical and illegal. Typical politicians left and right to acknowledge the problem, but do nothing to actually solve it. Help these people obtain affordable housing, healthcare, jobs, and educational resources… Oh wait… You gutted most of those. What a bunch of idiots.

  30. I've heard stories from women that live on the streets that they prefer not to go to shelters because there are men that harass them or worse.

  36. A QUESTION IS DUE THESE HOMELESS- WERE THEY UPROOTED BY FAR- LEFT DEMOCRAT PROSECUTORS, JUDGES OR POLITICIANS? IF THERE'S EVIDENCE OF ONE OF THE ABOVE THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR ROOTING THEM OUT OF THEIR HOMESZ TO REPLACE THEM WITH ILLEGAL ALIENS IN THESE. CITIZENS HOMES!
