  1. Man, young people today are crazy.
Im just starting to realise that whatever theyre on is some dangerous stuff. The first generation that fully grew up on social media. Makes sense if theyre all gonna be troublemakers.

Think about it. For those of us a bit older we saw the likes of Andrew Tate after our personalities were formed.
This new generation, it was the social media stuff that they were exposed to before anything else.
    Oh gosh

  2. >“We want to send a clear message to the Taoiseach (Micheal Martin) that you need to control this teenage violence and criminal activity that is going on in Dublin.

… That’d be great, I’m sure they’ll get on it right after the metro is finished.

  3. We have had these feral kids for years, zero consequences for the kids or their parents.

  4. “It’s not happening/that video is from years back/It’s no worse than when I was a teenager/Was always the same, we just didn’t have social media back then”

    – /Ireland Redditors

  5. We’re seeing the impact on young minds of the lockdown plus anti social media. And shit parents.

  6. We need proper sentencing, no holding back because Anton who has 230 previous convictions had a bad upbringing… Parents need to be held accountable regardless if they are still part of the child / teenagers life or not. What that would entail is hard to know, fines? Social welfare cut (very contraversial) … This of course assumes the parents / culprtits get socail welfare… If not huge fines and accountability, get your kids in order or you pay the consequences… If you are unwilling to that, you kid will eventually pay the consequences…

We need to wake up to the fact that Ireland is now getting inward migration from all over the world, all walks of life… Look at any other western country and you will see the same thing, i think Ireland is now only catching up. This sort of racist abuse and attacks should not be tolerated, and should be dealt with an iron fist, its unnaceptable.

  7. These types of incidents seem to occur outside school periods.

  8. Going to need a constitutional amendment-or else the supreme court will keep striking anything related to making teenagers actually go to prison.

  9. There’s a rise in attacks because there’s a rise in immigration. They’re just doing the same thing that they were doing before – on Irish or foreign people and there will be no change until the laws will be changed.

  10. Of course they are. I’m 36 and we’ve had roams of little Irish scuts terrorizing people for years. Then they grow up and have more little scuts.

  11. Need to introduce some consequences for not swallowing, 50% social welfare decrease for deviants under 18 receiving charges should work.

  12. It’s been like watching a very slow car crash all these years of how social media is intentionally making absolute shit of society. The persistent barrage to influence younger generations to turn towards more extreme views is coming to fruition.

Now it’s in top gear with the full backing of the current US administration to amplify as much hate and racism as possible, that any country that dares try to minimize their effect on their nations are threatened.

It’s been social media for years, next up it’s targeted AI to reinforce views and block out all information thrown under the label of “woke”.

  13. Absolutely no fucking surprise.

Those of us living in Dublin have been experiencing this for years, gangs of hooded teens doing as they please, assault, robbing criminal damage.

With ZERO consequences, and I mean zero. Gardaí don’t bother with them as they’re protected. They do rings around Garda cars in robbed bikes. They get juvenile liaison referrals, which aren’t worth the paper they’re written on.

I have seen Gardaí berate some poor young lad in a small electric scooter for breaking a red light (fair, absolutely)… but they totally ignore Kylar & Anto riding together away from a day robbing shops in town.

It’s only natural these feral gangs moved to outward racism.

I’m also sick to death of Maud Flanders-esque NGO’s & orgs who come out defending them when we do eventually start seeing a decent criminal justice response.
I don’t care about their outcomes in life, I don’t care if there are some academic report saying they shouldn’t go to prison.
In my view, if you commit a violent crime you go to a cell. No ifs or buts. I don’t care if you’re 14, 16 or 26. Prison for violent crime.

Nor do I have any sympathy for their “difficult upbringing”, in fact throw the parents in jail too.

  14. You’ve shit stirrers on social media whipping up hatred for immigrants & hiding behind ‘free speech’, well free speech shouldn’t be free of consequences, you encourage hatred or spread false information against someone or a group, you should be punished!

Same shit stirrers who cry ‘woke’ when it comes to learning & understanding about one another’s cultures & saying us Irish are being replaced.

Also to blame are crappy parents, no one is born racist, it’s learnt – parents are either encouraging or can’t be arsed with their child’s vile behaviour!

  15. I can’t believe that the demographic immune to consequences of bad actions would commit so many bad actions.

Not absolving the parents or social media shit stirrers, but turning a blind eye to poor areas, social problems and youth crime for years will have that effect.

  16. Bit rich on the one saying it.

She was defending the Nkecho lad

  17. Who would have known that a cohort of people who are practically immune from any legal consequences at all would engage in illegal behaviour? I am shocked and appalled.

  18. Where are they getting the ideas from though? Extreme Right wing stuff from the web. They are indoctrinated. Needs dealing with now or they’ll grow up and elect fellow people with horrible world views.

  19. Up till the 2008 crash, young people in Scotland that were wee arseholes got fired in to community projects for their issues, at 14 I was volunteering in a community farm called Knowtop, as school didn’t suit me, it was really good to be in that place, got to work with people on all levels, also many people with mobility and communication issues would come up with supports. (These things are still a thing just far less concentrated and or easily accessible)

Got to see and be around a wide range of people breaking down barriers and building general respect for people from all places and abilities, one of my favorite lessons was watching a one armed lady use a wheel barrow (full), sounds simple but it stuck with me even till now.

I have said it a few times here and will say it again, if we as a society want to fix these issues, we need people to help each other, not live in a society purely driven for profit, greed and status.
I also think people should have nice things if they like, just to be clear but things seems a bit messed up with the pressure some folk can be put under by their peer group, influence is an odd thing in people and how others can be affected by it.

Which is currently what we have.

Went in and out of voluntary work over the years but have noticed odd shity behaviours due to funding and allocation of said funding and how it causes things to be cut and or focused on, that can cut people out for varying reasons.

Meh I don’t know how to make these things happen to be fair my social skill are fucking shite.

  20. Kind of surprising considering our teens have been growing up for quite some time in a more diverse ireland than ever before.

My eldest daughter is 19, her second level 1st year was the most diverse in the schools history in terms of nationality, ethnic background and religion, so much so that it promted the then principal to have a heritage week.

The whole race hate thing utterly baffles me in general. I work in a front facing public job and meet all sorts from one end of the day to the next. The idea of not liking them because of the colour of their skin is just alien to me. There was one lad, bit of a dick, tried the “you don’t like me cuz I’m black”, no lad, I don’t like you because you’re being a prick 🤣🤣🤣. We’ve made up since!

  21. Teenage cunts continue to act like cunts; more on the hour

  22. Well, if a relatively small number of racist attacks is the catalyst for taking seriously a problem that has plagued us for years, you won’t hear me complaining. It’s just baffling that no one took this seriously before.

  23. Wait i thought it was those migrants who were making our cities “unsafe”.

    /s

  24. Gonna get down voted but allow the garda to beat the living fuck out of the cunts. Bodycam on to prove why they done it, but beat the cunts until they’re paralysed for life. Eventually it’ll sink in they can’t get away with their shit

  25. Good old Ebun who imagined racism when sent a glass of ribena instead of red wine at a hotel in Galway, henceforth to be know as “The Ribena woman”.

Still the attacks are disgusting but I wouldn’t involve her at all.

  26. Doesn’t surprise me. They learn it at home and on social media. Especially when their parents never discipline them.

  27. Gee, it’s almost as if mental health issues amongst teenagers are things which need to be addressed, and being online 24/7 isn’t a good thing…

  28. Just gonna assume a load of comments about how the issue isnt these scumbag kids/parents its that they dont individually have a swimming pool. Because a lack of swimming pools is the issue right

  29. Why is the media acting like this is new news.

A nurse got stabbed years ago by a 14 year old.

Twenty years ago two polish men were stabbed with screwdrivers dor not buying drink for scumbags.

Scumbags have always attacked foreifners in ireland and will continue to do so when the consequences are so mild.

  30. I’m connected to someone who directly works with these types of youth and the Garda.

What I can tell you is a few facts.

    – there’s been a notable increase in these cases in the past few years (post covid).

    – it’s not a case of even convictions now, unless it’s a serious offence, a JLO is referred and that is all. That includes car robbery.

    – many of these don’t come from an abusive background, and believe it or not the parents while not the best, are not scumbags themselves.

My own view point is these little scrotes need to be stood up too as 99% of the time they are all bark. They are targeting vulnerable people, women, disabled and foreign people. I genuinely believe the Indians are being targeted is because they are seen as soft natured vs say a Brazilian who tend to take a lot less shit.
