Single army isn‘t realistic unless France is in charge and nobody but France wants this. In fact, I couldn‘t imagine a worse country to rule our armies than France.
Make that damn army and then send the units on station outside of their own country. Nothing makes people less assholey than travelling.
Why is there a giant sperm on the right of the last Panel!?
ME ME, MEEEEEE
i want that
Weird meme. A single army is a theory of what would be a good idea, and I think it would be a bad idea.
Gradually moving away from USA into something similar to NATO, but only for European countries, is a good idea. But not a single army.
But yeah, we should definentely build up our militaries so that we dont have to rely on USA, if that is what overseas allies refer to. But is anybody except Spain against this today?
Eu federalism my beloved
Who knew that nationalists don’t want to give up their national army for an international globalist military force
Ah, yes. Such a successful endeavour it would be with a single army commanded by a bunch of nations. Certainly the likes of Hungary would not make that hard in any way. Especially not should that army be needed to defend against the nation that has both their fists firmly lodged up Hungarys ass controlling them like hand puppets.
And thankfully we don’t have any freeloaders in nato, so I’m sure every nation would chip in equally in this unified European army. No doubt.
Nobody but us and the Finns would fight for their country, so ofc nobody wants a united army.
Heck most can’t even muster the NATO minimum.
This is not how this meme works lol
Tbf single army would be incredibly difficult if not impossible without united state, just too many political issues and organizational things to be sorted out.
Approach to both common army and federalization needs to be lots of small steps over long period of time. We should have more and more common stuff, more and more treaties and standardization, more and more shared organizations and responsibility, so by the time decision to federalize is finally taken, its like year 2000 computer problem: there were real problems, and there was lot of fear over what would happen, but because many people had worked hard for long time to fix those problems, by the time it happened it all went smoothly without issues.
We should establish a very small common army today which is not reliant or part of any national armies, sole purpose of which is to solve all these problems. This army could then be expanded and reinforced and given more responsibility over 100 years, while national armies would slowly be downsized, and eventually replaced by/integrated into the common army.
This is me. Volunteered to serve my country when I was 19. I wouldn’t lift a finger for the EU, now or then, but quite the opposite.
🙋
Who wants to build the European army vs who wants to pay for the European army.
You’re more describing federalist and liberals than sovereignist.
Sovereignist by definition don’t give a damn about EU frontier, only care about their own, and will only help someone out if a bilateral agreement is at play.
The federalist/liberal are the ones that right now want to rule over all of EU, without being elected by europeans, while being protected by US military, aka NATO.
I mean if people don’t get this… really no point in going any further with EU, this is really basic shit.
Me being a French soveireignist knowing damn well that the so called European sovereignty is just another word for US Vassals.

This would require me to trust Pedro, and Pedro is a coward
I raise my hand for both
A single European army will not be effective. Never mind the doctrinal issues, Italian generals deciding over Finnish soldiers and so on. I support a European NATO of sorts, but I dislike the idea of being a reservist in an European army.
And I don’t like a united Europe either. I quite like living in a country where my people can decide to live how we want through democratic institutions.
