YYT Urging Patience as Air Canada Flight Attendants Prepare to Strike

This weekend – Sunday in particular – could be the busiest period ever at St. John’s International Airport. Some 2,000 athletes outbound will be waving to some 2,000 athletes inbound for the second half of the Canada Summer Games in St.John’s.

Lisa Bragg, who handles business development and marketing for the airport, says people at the airport will have to have extra patience over the next while.

It’s uncertain how a labour disruption at Air Canada would play out but a work stoppage by flight attendants would have a significant impact. Bragg says there are three Air Canada flights in and out of YYT.

Halifax is operated by PAL Airlines so that route won’t see any changes, but Montreal and Toronto are operated by Air Canada, and they could be affected.
