Solar panels that fit on your balcony or deck are gaining traction in the US. These small-scale solar systems could become attractive to more homeowners now that Trump’s sweeping budget-and-policy package will scrap residential rooftop solar tax credits.

1. This is already kinda big in Germany and it is awesome. Especially when combined with a battery system, these little “balcony powerstations”, as we call them in Germany, can really make an impact on your consumption and your energy bill

2. Commercial establishments need to cover their parking lots and rooftops with solar. I have had several folks out to bid my house for solar but I thought the federal or state would not honor the contract, much less the private company doing the installation and maintenance.

3. Used solar panels can be found cheap on Marketplace. The cable to link them to a battery is on Amazon.
