Russian forces advance in Ukraine’s east in lead-up to Trump-Putin talks • FRANCE 24 English

Four bands of Russian soldiers thrust deeper into eastern Ukraine this Tuesday. Their advance came to the Colemani town of Doorilia 10 km of a push according to Ukraine’s deep state war mapping site. Deep state also said that the Russians had surged forward near three villages on a section of the front line associated with the Ukrainian towns of Constantin Kiefka and Bokovsk which Moscow is trying to encircle by exploiting Ke’s lack of manpower. This all comes ahead of a summit this week between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the US President Donald Trump, which European Union states fear could end in peace terms imposed on an unlawfully shrunken Ukraine. Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zalinski still is not invited to this summit. Let’s bring in Emanuel Shaz, our correspondent who’s waiting for us uh in Ke for more on this situation. uh Emanuel, Ukraine making uh impact across Russia in various different places, but the main story from the front is this push by Russia uh in the east. Can you tell us more about that? Uh yes, it’s been a few days now that we’ve seen uh what appears to be a Russian advances towards a strategic route between the uh settlement, the cities, pardon, of Doilia and Kamatski in eastern Ukraine in the region of Don. There was alarm uh today as Ukrainians woke up to this map showing an advance of some 10 kilometers towards this strategic uh road. uh over the course of the day, the uh Ukrainian army and the president actually said that uh there was no uh breach of uh Ukrainian defenses that was so significant that we could say that the Russian army has implanted itself past the Ukrainian lines of defense. Instead, uh what seems to be the case in that direction is that groups of Russian soldiers, sabotaries have managed to uh go through. They haven’t reached the road yet. uh as far as we know from open source uh information and uh in that uh the Ukrainian army doesn’t confirm those advances. What we can say is that this road is a strategic access between the cities of Clamatoskilia. It has been closed down to civilians uh because it was already uh controlled for weeks now by Russian drones. So it has become too dangerous for civilians uh to use uh this road and overall in the sector of Dropilia. There’s daily uh bombing. There are evacuations taking place because there are still hundreds thousands of people who are there. Most of them also are also displaced people from villages already under Russian occupation. So the humanitarian situation is as we mentioned it uh many times before very dire in the region. And we’ve discussed many times too uh how nobody in Ukraine trusts uh Vladimir Putin and Russia on any development that is made diplomatically. And with that we turn to the meeting between Trump and Putin later this week to which of course Vladimir Zilinski is not invited neither uh are members of the European Union. And clearly from Ukraine’s perspective it’s about getting Zalinski somehow into that room in Alaska. Absolutely. We’ve seen over the past few days the Ukrainian president uh calling many allies and tomorrow will be I think quite defining for the relationship between Kiev and its allies also with the US because there’s going to be three meetings. First the EU leaders, the NATO uh general secretary and Ukraine will talk. Then there will be a talk uh with uh the European leaders Donald Trump and Bard Misilinski. And finally the coalition of the winning those of the countries who pledged military support to Kiev will also gather to discuss what uh uh what transpired from the other two meetings. So we see really Kiev and its allies really uh trying to get together to come up with a plan. Of course, Ukraine would like to see more pressure against Russia rather than to have to comply uh to anything because the US and Russia would like Ukraine to do so. And on that note, it is uh important to remind that Ukraine simply doesn’t have to listen to whatever comes out uh of a meeting on Friday, for example, on uh the territorial concessions. We’ve talked a lot about those. It is uh against the Ukrainian constitution that its president should simply give away land give a land and that’s also something that Zilinski reminded time and again over those past few days. Worth noting to Emanuel de Putin so far has made no concessions. Donald Trump it appears willing to listen to whatever Putin wants. Russian troops have broken through Ukraine’s lines in the Donetsk region, open-source data showed on Tuesday, threatening the mining town of Dobropillia. The sudden advance comes just days ahead of planned talks between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Friday.   4. getting zelensky in that room in alaska "somehow"? possibly as a waiter? trump drinks diet cokes if that helps. i don't know what putin's soda of choice is. something for zelensky and his crew to research before he puts on the apron.

  8. Ukraine does not have to listen to whatever comes out of the meeting but neither does Russia have to stop pushing forward. You can talk tough all you want but reality on the ground will force yourself on you.

  11. The issue is here is without U.S support Ukraine and Europe are in a tight corner. Their position is precarious. They would have to concede. Europe cannot guarantee Ukraine's position to refuse territorial concession unless there is security guarantees. These security guarantees in turn are worthless if not under-written by the U.S.

    It is a fact that Europe cannot afford to shore up military support without the U.S involvement whether in their format as Europe or in the format of NATO. Neither of these formations can match the Russian military complex without U.S involvement.

    Therefore if this summit results in an agreement between the U.S and Russian on some kind of territorial concessions I do not see how Europe or Ukraine can simply reject such an agreement without such a rejection having a huge political, military and diplomatic fall our or cost adverse to them. This is real politics at play right now.

  12. Europe seems to completely misunderstand this whole "Vassal state concept". This is how this works. Washington calls you, tell you what to do, and then you do it. It’s that simple. Now go wait at the telephone, for further instructions.

  26. Ukraine is not unlawfully shrunk, it is shrunk under the legal chicanery invented by the Collective West to separate Kosovo against their Constitution. Putin is a competent lawyer. He is using the West's trickery against them.

Russia has always been the biggest bully on the block, their military has decayed to the point where they’re unable to hit precision targets on a regular basis, combined with their philosophy of terrorizing and murdering innocent civilians to attempt to win a war that they appear to be teetering on the brink of collapse. The real question is how long the free world will stand by and watch Russia continue to murder people in a war that only profits one man's ego Putin, this can only end in Russia's downfall.

It should be noted that people outside the bogus main stream media know Ukraine is losing badly. If Ukraine doesn't Emmy to lose even more territory, they had better capitulation ASAP.
