Since becoming monarch in September 2022, King Charles has had his fair share of difficulties, although he has hardly been to blame for any of them. Yet from his cancer diagnosis last year, to scandals involving his brother Prince Andrew, and the ongoing rifts with Prince Harry, the King has not had it easy.

However, in the face of adversity, the King, 76, has continued to carry out his royal duties, even throughout cancer treatment. Although things have not been easy, the monarch also seems to be doing a good job, as shown by a new poll. But while Charles has not always been popular, especially after his separation from Princess Diana, it seems that this is now changing.

This has been shown in a recent YouGov poll, asking Britons questions about the monarchy earlier this month.

From August 5th until the 6th, some members of the British public were asked whether they think the King personally is “doing a good or bad job”.

The percentage of people who thought he was doing a good job in total was 62, while 16% believed he was doing a bad job overall.

The poll showed that 21% of respondents said they didn’t know.

This comes after a YouGov poll this month also saw the King ranked as the fourth most popular royal, with 59% of Britons having a favourable view of the monarch.

Prince William, the King’s eldest son and heir to the throne, was ranked as the most popular, followed by his wife Princess Kate.

The King’s sister Princess Anne, 75, also scored slightly higher than the King in terms of popularity as she secured third place in the YouGov popularity ranking.

Although he does not comment on such matters, the King is likely to feel thrilled at his positive popularity ranking.
