Jakarta – United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio extended his congratulations on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

On behalf of the U.S., Rubio praised the enduring ties with Indonesia as a strategic partner and a nation sharing the same commitment to democratic principles and a free and open Indo-Pacific.

“On this strong foundation, the United States remains committed to enhancing cooperation with Indonesia in key areas such as energy, trade, information technology, and security,” Rubio stated in a written message released by the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta.

“We look forward to close collaboration with President Prabowo’s administration to promote greater prosperity for the American and Indonesian people.”

“In celebration of 76 years of diplomatic relations between our two countries, I extend my warmest greetings to the people of Indonesia,” Rubio concluded.
