India vs Pakistan is considered to be the biggest clash in cricket these days. The arch-rivals are set to face each other on September 14 in Dubai in the Asia Cup 2025, and they could come up against each other as many as three times, including the final. However, with the noise for India to boycott Pakistan at the eight-team event growing with each passing day, can they win the tournament if they choose to do so? We explore
> India have been placed alongside Pakistan, Oman and UAE in Group A. If they were to forfeit the Pakistan game and win the remaining two matches, they should make it through to the Super Fours.
> From there, India will have to come up against the other two teams from Group B, and Pakistan. If they again choose not to take on Pakistan, winning the other two matches, ideally by big margins, becomes important if they do not want net run-rates to come in. They should also hope Pakistan do not finish in the top two.
> If India finish in the top two in the Super Fours and Pakistan do not, India make it to the final and will have a crack at winning the Asia Cup.
To keep it simple, losing to any other team (barring the forfeited fixtures against Pakistan) at any point in the tournament could see India crash out of the competition.
