Luka Doncic is committed to representing Slovenia at the 2025 EuroBasket.

Being one of the biggest stars in the NBA right now, Luka Doncic’s presence will certainly bring more eyes to the 2025 EuroBasket.

So far, Slovenia has managed Doncic’s load by resting him for multiple games in the friendly games before the competition.

However, Doncic did play against Latvia, only to give fans a major scare when he exited the game in the third quarter after one of his Slovenian teammates crashed into him.

Despite not returning to the court in the 100-88 defeat, Doncic’s knee injury was reportedly not severe. The update gave fans a sigh of relief.

But what about Slovenia’s future games? Well, according to the Basketball Federation of Slovenia, captain Doncic will join the team in training ahead of the matchup against Great Britain.

“After the match in Riga, the team will continue preparations for EuroBasket on Monday – already on Tuesday, a clash with Great Britain awaits us at Arena Stozice.

“The team will also be joined in training by captain Luka Doncic,” the federation revealed.

This is good news for Doncic and Slovenia fans as his presence also acts as a morale booster for the team.

Luka Doncic and Slovenia are still in search of their first win

Putting Doncic’s injury aside, a major concern for Slovenia has been their inability to win games in friendlies ahead of EuroBasket.

Many expected a win vs Latvia as Slovenia took an early lead, but they allowed the Kristaps Porzingis-led team to make a massive comeback later in the game.

Speaking of the defeat, Doncic was apparently frustrated with the level of refereeing as the LA Lakers star believed that Slovenia received an unfair whistle.

Doncic wasn’t alone as coach Aleksander Sekulic also felt the same. Even Porzingis apologized for the poor officiating, showing that Slovenia barely had a shot at defeating Latvia.
