For the Prime Minister, this is the largest investment ever in the Algarve region, “part of a strategy” the Government has for the entire country to manage water, a resource that in Portugal “exists in sufficient quantity.”
“We don’t have a water shortage, but a lack of capacity to manage and store the water we do have,” he emphasised.
According to Montenegro, the government is committed to ensuring that by 2050 it will make the “largest investment ever to ensure water for everyone, both for domestic supply and all economic activities, particularly agriculture.”
