Israel kills five Al Jazeera journalists in Gaza • FRANCE 24 English

Anasal Sharif knew he was a target. More than 200 Palestinian journalists like him were killed since the beginning of the war, according to journalist associations. On Sunday, he and four other members of Al Jazzer, some of the last voices reporting from the north of Gaza, became the latest victims. Israel bombed their tent in the east of Gaza City. Let us get you up to speed with this breaking news coming out of Gaza where four, yes, four Al Jazzer journalists have been murdered in a targeted Israeli strike. And as Sharif, Muhammad Ka, cameraman Ibrahim Zafur and assistant Muhammad Nfal were killed. Israel confirmed the killing, saying it was a targeted elimination of a terrorist posing as a journalist. The army issued documents which it said proved Anasal Sharif was the head of a Hamas cell firing rockets at Israel. It said this first chart is a Hamas registry showing the journalist’s recruitment date, rank and affiliation. It said another document proves that he was injured in the past while fighting in Hamas ranks. El Jazzer dismissed the accusations. The journalist prepared back in April a message anticipating his killing, which was published a few hours after his death. If these words reach you, know that Israel has succeeded in killing me and silencing my voice. In his final message, he described the intensifying bombing of Gaza City, which Israel said it planned to reoccupy. He called on people across the world to act to stop the madness that threatens to silence and erase the people of Gaza.
