Just because it’s not CALLED a castle doesn’t mean it’s not a huge estate.
That one they’re moving into looks like a resort.
I think this is conjecture. We don’t know what happens in the future.
I’m sure Highgrove is considered King Charles forever home. He also lives in Clarence House. Right now he’s at Balmoral. Source: Court Circular.
They also called Anmer and Adelaide their forever home. When the time comes royal homes will be moved around like chess pieces. William will still visit Balmoral. He may move from Kensington to Clarence. George will get Nott Cott. Royal Lodge will be vacated one day.
What I’m saying is, nothing is forever.

I’m pretty sure I read that QEII and Prince Phillip didn’t want to live at Buckingham, but they were pressured into doing it.
Doesn’t Charles live at Clarence House? I thought he was using the excuse of Buckingham renovations to never move there.
I think they’ll live differently because of the influence of Kate’s middle class family the Middleton’s

None of the royals want to live in Buckingham Palace. Even Elizabeth and Phillip try to get out of it back in the day.
But Windsor and Balmoral are still castles, and the royals seem to enjoy being there.
And if they’re not living in Kensington Palace, why do they have so many apartments there? They’re hoarding living space for no reason.
