  1. >In an announcement on Monday, the Foreign Ministry said that “in light of the severe humanitarian crisis in South Sudan,” Israel’s Agency for International Development Coordination, or MASHAV, would “provide urgent humanitarian assistance to vulnerable populations in the country.”

They are talking about medical equipment, water purification supplies, gloves and face masks, special hygiene kits, and food packages. And that this aims to address a cholera outbreak in the country, especially effecting children.

This is also done on the backdrop of the rumors about a negotiation with South Sudan to absorb Gazans wanting to flee the war. So it could be a part of it. But could also just be aid, as Israel usually helps with humanitarian catastrophes all over the world. We will find out.

Regardless, a much needed help to a struggling nation which deserves much more attention.
