The General Company for Cement and Building Materials (Omran) and A³&Co., a specialised consultancy in the cement industry, have signed a strategic cooperation agreement that aims to accelerate the transformation of Syria’s cement sector and position it as a cornerstone of the country’s reconstruction.

Signed at Omran’s headquarters by Eng. Mahmoud Fadila, General Manager of Omran, and Eng. Amr Nader, CEO of A³&Co., the agreement sets out a long-term roadmap to deliver globally competitive cement, enhance industrial efficiency, and align the sector with international sustainability standards.

The collaboration includes the development of the third production line at Hama Cement Plant, the upskilling and qualification of the technical workforce, and the designation of A³&Co. as the sector’s strategic advisor to design a roadmap and align policies with global sustainability standards.

The agreement also prioritises the reduction of the industry’s environmental footprint and the mitigation of legacy impacts through energy optimisation, periodic evaluation reports, and targeted efficiency improvements, supported by large-scale continuous workforce development.

Furthermore, the agreement calls for the establishment of a specialised training centre to provide both public and private sectors with skilled professionals, alongside internationally accredited testing facilities that will reinforce quality standards and position the cement industry as a key pillar in Syria’s upcoming reconstruction phase.
