A man who suffered a cardiac arrest while hiking in Reykjadalur in the summer of 2023 is now searching for the young woman who helped him by calling Iceland’s emergency number, 112.

The reason is that the Danish television station TV2 is currently producing a charity program called Hjertegalla 2025.

“All we know is that her name is Katrine”

Iceland’s emergency line has published the following announcement from the broadcaster:

“On July 18, 2023, Niels suffered a cardiac arrest while on his way up Reykjadalur. His two sons saved his life by providing essential first aid. At the time of the accident, they also received help from a Danish girl who was on her way up the valley and who made the emergency call to 112. All we know is that her name is Katrine.

In connection with Hjertegalla 2025, a charity program broadcast on Danish TV2 Charlie, we are trying to locate Katrine so the family can meet her and thank her for her assistance.

If you have any information about Katrine or know how to contact her, please send an email to: deniz.jorgensen@blu.dk.”
