After more than a decade, El Al has announced the renewal of its Tel Aviv-Eilat air route, set to resume this upcoming winter.
This initiative comes at the request of the Ministry of Transportation, as part of a collaboration aimed at increasing the frequency of flights between Eilat and central Israel. Despite operational challenges, El Al emphasized that this step is essential for the daily lives of the southern city’s residents.
The route will feature two daily flights — one in the morning and one in the evening — starting on October 21, using Boeing 737 aircraft. The price for a LITE ticket will begin at 139 NIS, which includes a trolley and backpack.
Residents of Eilat and Hevel Eilot will enjoy a subsidized fare of 99 NIS for a one-way ticket.
Eilat Mayor Eli Lankri welcomed the move, stating, “I welcome El Al’s decision to resume flight operations to Eilat for the first time in over a decade. This is a crucial step for the proper functioning of a central transportation artery for the city’s residents. El Al’s return works well with the plan we are advancing with government ministries to arrange regular flights with high frequency and subsidized prices. I thank the Minister of Transportation and El Al management for their partnership in strengthening connectivity and commitment to Eilat’s resilience.”
