The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem proudly announces the launch of its capital campaign, “Building Our Future: 90 Years in the Making” capital campaign.  This transformative initiative is intended to purchase and renovate a facility that will house expanded classroom space, dedicated rehearsal studios, administrative offices, and a 70-seat performance space.

After 90 seasons of inspiring audiences and nurturing performers across the region, The Little Theatre is taking an historic step forward.  Its purpose is not to build a permanent home, but to transform an existing structure into a creative hub that meets the growing needs of its thriving education and production programs.

“This new space is a dream come true for our staff, students, and artists,” said Joelle Irons, Executive Director of The Little Theatre.  “It gives us the flexibility to offer more classes, provide rehearsal space tailored to our performers’ needs, and further invest in the next generation of storytellers.”

The new facility will allow The Little Theatre to:

Expand its youth and adult education programsProvide consistent, high-quality rehearsal and teaching spaceOffer intimate performances and staged readings in a black box settingIncrease accessibility and community engagement through year-round programming

“This new space represents hope, creativity, and connection. It’s a place where stories will be born, friendships will grow, and imaginations will thrive,” said Kathy Anne Cissna, President of the Board of Directors. “We’re not just expanding a theatre company—we’re investing in the heart of our community.”

Supporters are encouraged to make a pledge at any level that feels meaningful, or explore special naming opportunities for rooms, rehearsal spaces, seats, or the new performance space. All contributions will directly support the purchase and renovation of the facility.

Please note: Our mainstage productions will continue to be performed in the Arts Council’s Hanesbrands Theatre and Reynolds Place Theatre.
