  1. Yep. It’s because the tarrifs and uncertainty around rules and responsibilities. And it’s not only a Norwegian problem as the postal service has stated its the same for many european countries that face the same problems vis a vis the US.

  2. Aw, I follow her too. That’s where I found out about this whole ordeal as well 😬

  3. There are a few exceptions. For example, a package under $100 USD marked as «gift» can still be sent between private persons. Letters/documents can still be sent as usual.

  4. We got the same message here in Denmark too. And yes the orange Caligula can’t seem to find out whatever is going on about the tariffs.

  5. Only if you are using the postal service. Other carriers like FedEx, UPS, DHL ++ who have a US customs bond and local customs brokerage will still forward shipments < $800 to US.

  6. Yeah, it is. I am kinda surprised that it took this long.

  7. It’s correct, and also applies to every other European country as far as I know. They have stated that they have to pause shipments pending information from US customs on how to correctly process these shipments going forward.

Shipping will likely resume as soon as US customs provides instructions, assuming those instructions are possible to implement within the existing framework.

  8. Oh. I just love the US alienating itself from the trade market 🙄

  9. Same here in Belgium, Bpost has taken the same decision, for the same reason. Akward situation…

  10. I understand it sucks, and I am probably the last in the line to say anything positive about the orange idiot. But Norway taxes the shit out everything from the first crown including costs of shipping and logistics companies charge relatively high rate for collecting import taxes on top of that.

It is done to «protect» the local market. I hope they will be forced to relax on that.

It is bad for people living here and in the long run they are doing disservice for local businesses that operate in protected market and have little incentive to innovate or compete with businesses outside of Norway because they often are local market oriented.
