August the 20th, 2025 – The incredible 76th Dubrovnik Summer Festival programme is continuing with more captivating performances in the cultural heart of Croatia.

Dubrovnik is so much more than just another destination in Croatia famed for its scenery, sunshine and sea. Once an autonomous republic and the envy of the Venetian Empire, this stunning city has always been a cut above most other places across the Mediterranean – this is especially the case when it comes to its remarkable ties to culture and loyalty to the arts. One enduring event that makes this UNESCO jewel stand out in the crowd is it being the host of the oldest cultural and artistic phenomenon in not only Croatia, but one of the oldest in all of Europe.

The 76th edition of the much loved Dubrovnik Summer Festival is continuing to impress crowds from Croatia, Europe and indeed the rest of the world with its rich programme. If we’re being honest, the festival’s programme each year is amazing, and yet it seems to outdo itself each and every summer. Let’s take a look at what’s on the schedule for the Pearl of the Adriatic’s most coveted event.

August the 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th…

The third and final premiere of the 76th Dubrovnik Summer Festival is The Seagull, directed by Polish director Janusz Kica and performed on the stunning island of Lokrum at 21:00. It tells a grand story about life and theatre, exploring the desires, dreams, and passions of its characters, with a profound focus placed on the women at its heart. Hailed as a timeless masterpiece, The Seagull continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its poignant reflection on love, art, and human ambition. Some of the renowned actors in the cast include Nina Violić, Janko Popović Volarić, Ružica Maurus, and Filip Šovagović.

On August the 22nd, the widely adored Linđo Folklore Ensemble, founded back in 1965, is a cornerstone of Dubrovnik’s rich cultural life. Named after the region’s most beloved traditional dance, the Linđo, the ensemble preserves and celebrates Croatia’s rich intangible cultural heritage, including the Linđo dance, the feast of St. Blaise, the Dubrovnik dialect, Konavle embroidery, klapa singing, and much more. A regular presence at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival since 1967, Linđo has performed across Croatia and around the world, proudly promoting Dubrovnik and Croatian culture to all. During the 76th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, the ensemble will mark its 60th anniversary with a final performance in front of the Cathedral of St. Blaise, showcasing the timeless beauty of Croatian traditions to both local and international audiences.

On August the 23rd, the “Youth for Youth” Charity Concert will close the music programme in the Palace. The concert features the finest young Croatian musicians, including tenor Filip Filipović, recipient of the Croatian Music Youth Award Ivo Vuljević, and violinist Matej Mijalić, winner of the Ferdo Livadić Young Musicians Award, accompanied by chamber ensembles from the Luka Sorkočević Art School, with piano accompaniment by Lana Bradić.
