Source – Wild video shows a US tourist yanking a suspected pickpocket by the ponytail after the teenager allegedly stole her purse and passport while on vacation in Venice.
Footage of the dramatic incident, which took place last Thursday, shows the furious woman gripping the teen girl by the hair in front of a crowd of onlookers in the world-famous Italian city.
The mom of eight was able to track down her stolen purse by using the “Find My Friends” feature on her AirPods, which were inside it, according to her daughter, Karis McElroy, who shared the original video of the confrontation on TikTok.
Karis’ mom was on vacation in Venice with her stepdad when they were crowded by a group of girls on a narrow bridge, and soon realized that her backpack had been unzipped and her purse containing her credit cards, cash and passport was missing, along with a metal water bottle.
“Her and my stepdad immediately started tracking her purse through her AirPods on Find My Friends, and they were able to track it down back to those three girls,” Karis said in a subsequent video.
“So she goes and chases them down, and she grabs one of the girls by her ponytail and does not let go. Two of the girls stay, one of the girls runs away with my mom’s purse,” she went on.
The couple, from North Carolina, are on a Mediterranean cruise after boarding a ship in Venice, Karis said.
Two things: One…impressive grip strength, and two…why couldn’t these girls just focus on organized crime like regular Italians? Leave the pick-pocketing to the eastern Europeans. The Slovaks, the Hungarians, the Poles – they need it. Things are bleak over there. They haven’t seen sunshine since World War One. It’s a poor man’s crime that should be reserved for the residents of poor countries only. If you wanna make money, get in with the hotels and rob them while they’re gone. Don’t pick-pocket like a fucking idiot. The risk isn’t worth the reward. One second you think you got away, the next you’ve got a brawny American woman yelling in your face as she death grips your pony tail.
Which, by the way, is an incredible advertisment for America. “Oh you wanna steal from me, honey? How about I track your ass down and show you how we do it in North Carolina?” Everyone on earth is on the woman’s side too. Type in “Ponytail Pick Pocket” on TikTok and you’ll see what I mean. This reminds me of when American’s had to be told to stop beating the shit out of pick pockets during the Paris Olympics. I guess these girls don’t watch the news.
Long story short, the woman got both her purse and her passport back. All’s well that ends well. Now she can go back to enjoying her vacation with her eight, very well behaved children.
