The British government is facing intense pressure over a policy to house asylum seekers in hotels – after a council won a temporary court injunction that means all migrants in one hotel will have to leave.
Figures released by the government show more than 32,000 asylum seekers were housed in hotels in Britain at the end of June, and a record 111,000 people claimed asylum since June last year.
