  1. This is why if someone is acting a fool in public I just keep my mouth shut.

  2. I can’t let this deter me. I will never not speak up at the movie theater to shame talkers. Fight the good fight.

  3. This is why I don’t go to theaters anymore.

Fuck this. I don’t want to be in the same room as assholes. And all it takes is one.

This guy has a fucking black eye because of those snot-nosed shits. What the fuck is wrong with people?

  4. This is going to become a massive problem for movie theaters, I’ve complained for months on how in about the past year or so, its become so normal for people to talk loudly in movie theaters, and folks are no longer ashamed when you ask them to keep it down, they think YOU are the one with the problem.

This happened to me when I went to See the new Mission impossible and F1 Movie, and because of how much that ruined my experience, I actually decided against going to see Superman in theaters, and I think I might just stick to that for the forseeable future, I have a great 77″ TV, sound system and snacks … why go through all the trouble when I can just wait 4 – 6weeks and pay exactly the same for the experience.

  5. I kinda am freaked out since the Holmes guy . And the retired cop who killed a guy for not turning his phone off .

  6. I hope those teens harass the absolute wrong person one day.

  7. Omg idiot teens were annoying when I went to watch the movie also.

  8. >”They just punched me. I didn’t fight back…….”

    Why the fuck not?

  9. I have seen so many conflicts over individuals talking through a movie or just generally being assholes to everyone trying to watch the movie they paid and were excited to watch.

  10. And people ask why movie theaters are dying. High quality tv screens are cheap, home theaters are getting better, snacks are cheaper, you don’t gotta deal with assholes like those teens.

  11. Asking for more security at movie theaters is literally never going to happen and obviously not because production companies don’t have the money to shell out to the theaters…

YMMV but I’ve found it’s easiest to avoid by gauging the demographic of the movie you want to see; Heavy dramas and indies are fairly safe in my experience.

  12. Who wants to bet the teens paid for the tickets via credit card and their names are easily trackable?

  13. It’s why I would rather go to the dentist than a movie theater.

  14. People think they are in their living room. Zero respect for anyone else.

  15. Another thing keeping me from going. Unless the theatres themselves get on this, they’re going to continue losing patrons

  16. You wanna know how to cure this? Wrap the theatre in a Faraday cage or another dampening material. No mobile connections? No obnoxious teens. They can’t live without their mobiles.

  17. The little amount of anyone of authority at AMC etc. Theaters is actually kinda scary nowadays. I always go to boutique theaters or Alamo now.

  18. I hate to be that guy but Gen-alpha has no discipline or respect. I come a family of teacher and know so many that quit teaching because kids are getting more and more unruly and physically violent.

  19. This is why I stopped going to the theaters mf be having the phones on and taking if anything I’ll go super early like at 9 or 10am

  20. Last year I was a high school substitute teacher and I was only asked to put on a movie ONCE, and that was for an AP class. Teachers told me teens today don’t have the attention spans to just watch a movie for 50 min straight… theaters will not survive this generation.

  21. When I went to see Sinners, and entire family of like 11 people came and sat right next to me with two infants like under a year old and probably 6 kids. They talked the entire time and the kids played on tablets. I wasn’t really upset, just flabbergasted. Why would you think that’s okay?

  22. Go see matinees, go to indie theaters, go on its last weekend. I’ve had this problem once in my life. On the 4 dollar ticket day on a weekend.

And this has been a problem for a long time. The “kids these days” are just getting older.

Also just ask for a refund and see it another time. The one time it happened to me I walked out (20 minutes in) and got a refund.

  23. LEAVE AND DEMAND YOUR MONEY BACK! IF THEY ASK YOU TO POINT OUT PEOPLE DON’T TAKE THAT BAIT. ENOUGH PEOPLE DEMAND A REFUND. THEN THEY’LL CHANGE SHIT!

  24. this is why i pay a premium to watch movies at a boutique cinema full of well mannered old people. it’s unfortunate that most don’t have this option.

  25. Where I live we have VIP Viewings. You have to be 19+ to enter and they serve drinks (booze) and food before the show and the chairs are like mink recliners all snug together.

No noisy kids and most who pay for a vip ticket tend not to make noise or use their phones as they are looking to actually see the movie thus ok with paying for the higher ticket price.

  26. Gen Z is weirdly hostile and aggressive. I’m wondering if there is good data to support this.

  27. Hmmm….

    Let me guess…

Are they deploying the National Guard to Boston???

  28. My bf and I had to tell some obnoxious teenagers sitting behind us to be quiet and stop kicking our chairs when we saw Weapons last weekend. I can’t imagine if they had attacked us over it though, holy shit

  29. Identify them from the video, charge and convict them of felonies, make them carry and broom and plunge toilets for the rest of their lives.

  30. I will say it once again, you either die the reporter or live long enough to see yourself become the reported.

  31. This is one of the reasons I don’t go to the cinema anymore. It’s not a youth thing, people of all ages think its their frigging living room.

  32. With the movie theater industry dying the movie theater should sue the attackers.

  33. Sorry to hear he was attacked.

But this just goes to supporting my opinion of never ever wanting to go a movie theater again.

  34. The pull between going to a cheap showing but almost without fail having to deal with loud people, or paying for a premium showing with less arseholes but cost is ££££. Begging them to find a way I can connect Bluetooth earphones or some sort of closed loop.

  35. Hope the kids get locked up and at least permanently banned from that theater and it’s affiliated locations.

  36. There needs to be a no fly list for movie theaters. Full stop.

  37. We don’t go to movies anymore. I stream everything. I don’t appreciate the noise , rudeness and the cost . Especially overpriced candy , soda etc. besides with my disabilities it’s kinda hard . Our malls cinema has closed . I know there’s a smaller one in another town. It doesn’t interest me anymore. Besides I don’t have to worry about bringing a roach or bedbug home from a dark cinema ….
