US Soccer has announced that the USWNT will take on a third opponent in its October friendly window. New Zealand will travel to Kansas City, MO to face the Stars and Stripes on Wednesday, October 29. The match is notable in that it will be hosted at CPKC Stadium, the first purpose built women’s soccer stadium.

The match will be preceded by a pair of games against Portugal to be played in Chester, PA and East Hartford, CT. It has been two years since the USWNT took on New Zealand. The last times the teams met was prior to the 2023 World Cup when the Americans visited Wellington and Auckland winning those matches 4-0 and 5-0.

These games will carry a different tone as the USA is re-tooling in the run up to the 2027 World Cup. It will be an opportunity for manager Emma Hayes to bring European based players into the lineup and evaluate different player combinations and tactics in preparation for competitive matches.
