The head of the Polish Ministry of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, said that September 1, 2025 will mark the completion date of the new training range for Polish and Ukrainian service members. He shared the information on X.

The minister noted that this project is being carried out within the framework of NATO, at the initiative of Norway, which is implementing it jointly with Poland.

“This is also our philosophy – we want to help Ukraine on the territory of the Republic. This partnership with Norway yields positive results.”

According to the minister, construction of the training range began on July 14, and by the early autumn the work should be completed. On September 1 of this year, the first course of training for Ukrainian servicemen will begin directly on Polish territory. This is not the first training cycle, but it is the first in this camp.

In June this year the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that in Poland, within the EUMAM Ukraine training mission, more than 30,000 Ukrainian service members have already undergone training.

Coordination with the EU and prospects for further training

In November 2024 the EU Council extended the mandate of the EUMAM Ukraine training mission for another two years – to 15 November 2026 – allowing the continuation of training for Ukrainian troops in Poland.

Such steps indicate a long-term joint effort among partner countries and a strengthening of defense cooperation in the region, taking into account the needs of Ukraine’s armed forces and supporting security in Europe.
