What a gorgeous part of the world. However my soul hurt so much at the rubbish left there, I was so angry at the sheer disrespect it kind of spoilt it for me. I know I was a tourist there but…. Tourists are the worst sometimes. Utterly ashamed at humanity.

The main path needs more bins. The only ones are in the car park and the little exhibition building, from memory, and when I last visited the latter were overflowing. In an ideal world people would carry their rubbish back to the car, but that’s clearly not happening and once one person litters it can cause a snowball effect. Give people the means to conveniently dispose of their rubbish and littering will decrease.
Wales and the UK does seem to have a big problem with litter. I disagree with the argument that it’s due to a lack of bins. Education is a big part, but also personal responsibility and just a lack of respect for other people and their own surroundings. Rampant consumerism and our throwaway culture doesn’t help either.
I’m not sure how we solve the issue. But I agree, it’s disheartening even driving along the road and seeing hedgerows full of litter.
I live 20mins away, I proposed to my GF here 2 years ago and it was my favourite place growing up. I walked up there about a month ago with my 6yo and was completely disgusted by the amount of litter around the place, coincidentally 90% of the tourists up there were clearly not Welsh.
Also it took me 45 minutes to get out of the car park which infuriates me, suppose it will be a summer holiday ban for me from now on!!
Gosh that looks like an oil painting, what an amazing photo!
I always go tesco on the way to buy a meal deal and buy a bag. The bag is used for rubbish which I place in my backpack. It really is not that hard.
There is certainly a problem with rubbish in many areas. Whilst out walking along the road near Tanygrisiau, a car passed me, and out of the window some rubbish was thrown……… a used Pampers.
Some people are just disgusting.
I’d want my ashes scattered in the water there. Looks so peaceful and beautiful.
