A Boeing 787 returned to New York after circling few minutes after departure.
The United Airlines flight UA84 departed Newark terminal C this afternoon, on time, at 3:49 PM EDT for a 10-hour flight to Tel Aviv.
The Boeing 787-10 (registration N12010) stopped the climb at 6,000 feet only few minutes after departure for a technical reason still unknown. The plane then circled to dump fuel and reduce weight to attempt a safe return.
After 1 hour and 28 minutes, the aircraft landed safely on runway 4R and taxied back to gate 138.
The airline apologized for the situation and is scheduling a new departure at 7:51 PM after a new crew to arrive.
