The Vancouver Police Department is requesting the public’s help finding two men wanted Canada-wide.
The men — 43-year-old Omid Mashinchi and 40-year-old Amir Navarchi — are wanted in connection with a large drug-trafficking investigation.
The investigation, Project Torque, began in November 2021, looking into a Vancouver-based drug-trafficking operation that operated both domestically and internationally.
“Following a three-year-long investigation, six people—including Mashinchi and Navarchi—were arrested and charged,” the VPD said.
“Investigators seized more than 200 kilograms of hard drugs valued at approximately $16 million, along with seven firearms, and $500,000 in cash and jewelry. All six suspects were released pending an ongoing investigation.”
Charges were approved against the six people in 2024. Four have been found and arrested, while Mashinchi and Navarchi remain at large. Both are facing charges of one count of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. Mashinchi is also charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of a firearm.
Maschichi is 5’7″ and 165 pounds with a medium build. He usually has a shaved head and wears glasses.
Navarchi is 5’7″ and 190 pounds with a heavy build and short hair.
Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to call investigators at 604-717-0505.
