APD: Deadly shooting at westside bar was over a parking space

ALBUQUERQUE, NM- Albuquerque Police say a deadly shooting at a westside bar Friday night started as a fight over a parking spot.

Police arrested David Casarez, after they say he killed 22-year-old Carlos Ochoa in the parking lot of Effingbar and Grill.

According to APD, Casarez claims the shooting was in self defense.

Witnesses told APD Casarez was the aggressor, and detectives don’t believe Ochoa had a gun.

Casarez is charged with an open count of murder.
