Moldova’s table grape harvest in 2025 is projected to reach around 150,000 tons, with exports estimated at 100,000 tons, according to the country’s Grape Producers and Exporters Association.
Harvesting of early-season varieties is currently underway. Despite some frost damage in spring, growers report a good crop, though bunches from traditional vineyards are often smaller. Early varieties account for only about 10% of the sector, but are important for exporters. By mid-August, Moldova had already shipped nearly 1,000 tons of new-season grapes abroad, mainly to the EU, Russia, and other CIS markets.
Prices for early-season grapes average 30–35 MDL/kg (€1.6–1.9), while premium quality bunches of 2–3 kg or more can reach up to 50 MDL/kg. Experts note that early-season sales are often more profitable than late varieties, which face higher storage costs and more difficult marketing.
In the 2024 season, Moldova exported 59,700 tons of table grapes worth $67.1 million, with Romania, Poland, Ukraine, and the Netherlands among the top buyers. The record was set in 2023, when exports reached 84,500 tons.
