Wessex (South)
Mercia (Midlands)
Northumbria (North)
A more nuanced eastern England
Central London (City of London, Westminster, Canary Wharf) isn't England, just a UN territory.

If the north was any county it’d surely be Yorkshire, we make most of it up
If we’re doing the Heptarchy, can Lindsey get independence too?
Spot on, except Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire are in Wessex not Mercia.
I’m from Devon and completely resent any attempt to amalgamate us with the Wessex invaders.
We long for a liberated and prosperous Dumnonia.
Luv me Wessex, Luv me Alfred, Luv me Cerdic. ‘Ate Natanleod, ‘Ate Britons (Cerdic is one of the good uns), ‘Ate Vikings. Just want me Wessex back, simple as. Cheers.
Middlesex should be in Essex
So are East Anglia and Essex Midlands or South then?
Not a fan. Cheshire is northern.
London will be annexed into Mercia, it’s rightful Sovereigns.
MERCIA 🟦🟨🟦
Too much home counties going in in Wessex.
Put a fence down from Brean to Bridport and back off.
Can we please not have London?
Big up the Elmet Freedom Fighters
Devon’s certainly more Brithonic than Wessex leaning.
What is the obsession with north/south? Seems like almost daily someone is posting a version of the question (this being one of the better looking).
(Asking from the US where north/south means a whole bunch of things, mostly related to civil rights. )
Northumbria playing for Bradford City in this scenario.
