Israel set to approve settlement project that could divide the West Bank • FRANCE 24 English

Israel on Wednesday gave approval for a controversial settlement project in the occupied West Bank’s E1 area, a move Palestinians and rights groups warn could effectively block a future Palestinian state. The development, long frozen under US pressure, has been backed by far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich as a challenge to Western countries recognising a Palestinian state. FRANCE 24’s Noga Tarnopolsky has the details from Jerusalem.

  1. Where is the EU? At least Spain, Ireland and Norway and to a lesser extent France have led the way. Shame on the Germans, Italians and the rest of them who ostensibly support a 2 state solution but won't do anything about it. Never mind the British Government which was responsible for this mess in the first place.

  2. set to deliberately approve a project to deliberately divide the West Bank for the sole purpose of deliberately making it impossible

  3. GO ISRAEL – take back the Land you own. There were no indigenous people in the Land of Israel called Palestinians. West Bank should be called Judea and Samaria as it was over 2,000 years ago!
