ZAGREB, 25 Aug (Hina) – Split’s Peristil Square will become the stage for a unique music project, “Diocletian’s Gala Evening”, where, for the first time in Croatia, a symphony orchestra and a DJ will perform together, presenting the most famous classical works in an entirely new style.
This music project is scheduled for 29 August.
Split, already recognised as a city of culture as well as a hub for electronic music thanks to the major Ultra Europe festival, will this time combine the seemingly incompatible, organisers say.
The audience can expect a journey through musical eras with performances of works by renowned composers such as Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven, Bizet, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, and Johann Strauss II.
The symphony orchestra will be conducted by maestro Veton Marevci, accompanied by one of Croatia’s most sought-after DJs and producers, Darko Stojaković – Joe2Shine, who has performed across Europe, including at Ultra Europe festival.
