    “Chief Constable Rasmus Madsen Løvik to the left. Rasmus Madsen Løvig came from Førde and worked as a policeman in Bergen 1876 – 1911. Løvig, who patrolled the Nøste area, was a well-liked man. When the police tried to transfer him to another area, there were strong protests from the local community. Was employed by the police for 35 years. Born 21.11.1848 in Førde Sunfjord. Was employed as a policeman 17.02.1876. Became Chief Constable 23.01.1894 and retired 30.09.1911”.
