Yesterday I commented on a post about Isbjørn pils, saying that Frydenlund Juicy Blonde was the cheapest I’ve found 500ml beer I had found. I was downvoted and a lot of people called my a liar. I am very new in Norway so maybe I’m missing something.
Today I went back to Rema and bought the offending item to make sure I wasn’t mistaken or it was some sort of exclusive deal, I wasn’t and it wasn’t.
So what am I missing here? Is this price unusual?

Non alcoholic?
That price seems very unusual to me.
If you enjoy that beer, I hope you bought a lot!
I’d guess they’re dumping stock? Kinda short best before date. Also, sale on alcohol does happen every now and then, they’re just not allowed to advertise it, and have to rely on word of mouth .
Where? I want
What price does Tuborg have?
Its because it has not sold at all, mostly due to tasting like ass
Never seen that one so cheap. It’s actually pretty nice as well 😀
Something else than the isbjørn 😅
But… if it was the cheapest you’ve seen, why does your tab show that you bought an ever cheaper one?
Skjærgårdspils on your tab is 5,- less at 19,90
I was the one that said “Weird. Here its about 34kr pr 500ml”
I upvoted you though. Still, this is weird, that’s a “premium” Norwegian store beer. And it’s cheaper than Bare Øl. Old batch maybe?
Have you checked the date on the can?
Awwww I remember this beer, when I lived in Norway. Gorgeous stuff considering the price
Maybe they have waaaay to much on hand, so they turned the price down in that spesific store. You are allowed to sell alchol cheaper, as long as you dont advertise or promote it. We have done it many times in our store. Usually because it’s about to expire.
It’s illegal to have sales on beer, but this is clearly a huge discount. Stock the fuck up.
My best guess is that it is a summer edition beer, so now they are dumping the price to get rid of it… They do this on some types of Christmas beers aswell once the season is over.
Hvor? 👀
This was a summer beer, made probably only for a few batches. It didn’t sell very well. They are keen to be rid of it as the summer comes to an end and its expiration date is (im assuming) later this year, so the price is drastically lowered. This usually goes under the radar, seeing as any promotion or announcement of a change in price is illegal. By christmas another season variant will come, and it might do well or it might not. This is an example of the latter.
That beer is disgusting and they are dumping stock.
Was this at Holdbart or something like that?
Prices vary from store to store. The fact that this was the cheapest one at your store is *very* unusual. It’s usually crappy pilsners, like Isbjørn, Bare, and so on. Maybe the guy in charge of inventory just likes to buy it for himself… who knows. I’ve speculated such a pattern in a store I used to work at. A special kind of beer for surprisingly cheap, and we only bought a couple of sixers every few weeks. Strangely, my boss would very often buy a few for himself once delivery came in.
You are missing beer!
Am I the only one who is stuck on the name “juicy blonde”
????
Wild. I gotta say seeing is believing. I stand very well corrected, sorry about previous comments
Whatever the Dahls beer is below it seems to be the same price though 49.80Kr pr L
one of the best for half the price. cheers!
