Emirates is “strategically scaling up” the number of aircraft fitted with its new premium economy and business class cabins.
The Dubai-based carrier said that it currently has refurbished 67 long-haul aircraft with the new cabins as part of its project to eventually retrofit the seating on 219 Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s. The new cabins also feature onboard nine new Airbus A350s flying to 15 destinations.
Emirates added that premium economy will be available on routes from Dubai to 68 cities and on a total of more than 635 weekly flights by this winter – it increased the number of European destinations served by refitted aircraft earlier this year.
The airline’s latest move sees more retrofitted aircraft being deployed on regional routes from Dubai to Amman, Mumbai, Muscat and Bahrain for the winter 2025-26 schedule.
“As demand grows for premium travel, Emirates is strategically scaling up its premium economy footprint,” said the carrier in a statement. “By the end of 2025, Emirates expects to offer over two million premium economy seats. Today, Emirates offers over 1.8 million premium economy seats across its network.”
