  1. I know the 90’s are back in style but I want the French 1790’s to come back around just for stuff like this

  2. Katy Perry may be a controversial figure, but I truly don’t see how she is wrong in this story. Dude with a networth over 30 million sold a house for a reasonable prize, then regrets it and tries to get it back: how is that Katy’s fault or blame?

  3. Unfair headline, some guy realized a famous person bought the house he chose to sell, figured he could get a publicity settlement. Him being a veteran has nothing to do with it.

  4. Dear ai news, am I supposed to feel bad for this rich fuck who decided 15M wasn’t enough since the buyer was a celebrity? “Dying veteran” give me a break lol

  5. Once again, if you read even a synopsis of that lawsuit, KP is completely in the right on this and it’s clear that the veteran’s family is orchestrating a media campaign to get leverage in the suit.

  6. Lots of people here shitting on Katy Perry, despite the fact BOTH her and Orlando Bloom are involved AND they’ve already won their case. The court is currently working out the damages they are owed.

  7. Muti-millionaire attempts to back out of muti-million dollar real estate deal.

    That is the real headline.

  8. This reminds me how Walt Disney would buy land in fake company names because if he said who he was they would up the prices

  9. I don’t know anything about this, and honestly don’t care, but what does being a veteran have to do with any of it? lol I just hate when shit like that is thrown around like it impacts anything whatsoever

  10. I don’t know why anyone should care about this. 2 rich people suing each other is not news regular people should care about.

  11. I would like to add:

    1. the veteran is also the 1-800-Flowers founder.
    2. And he only owned the house for a few months. This is not a special or decades owned family home. He put the house on the market and sold it for a profit. The selling price reflected the market at the time.
    3. They already had their day in court and Perry/Bloom won with a lot of ease. The family could not come close to proving the mental decline. It’s unfortunately a case of buyers remorse.

While the owner did have regrets within days of selling, it should be noted that the family did not really start pushing the case until after the COVID real estate market too off. If the market had tanked, I doubt we’d even be here discussing this. I believe if the family were to be given back the house, they would just resell it at 2025 price, with millions more in their bank account. I think that’s why Perry/Bloom are fighting this. This has nothing to do with the house.

  12. Better head line: Rich person sues another rich person for more money.

  13. Fucking headlines are horrible. When you realize what really happened: 1800 flowers original investor, car dealership owner who became a millionaire after serving time in the army realizes he could have sold his house for more money AFTER the deal was finalized loses his case and is still upset during the damages phase.

  14. They are acting like the guy isn’t a multimillionaire.

  15. Why do I care that it was a veteran? Did he have to defuse IEDs on the property?

  16. What shitty clickbait headline for what is actually happening here.

  17. Haters will clutch their pearls over a veteran being wronged by Katy perry. But when trump cuts federal jobs which overwhelmingly hire veterans, they same haters will claim its justified and veterans arent entitled to a federal job

  18. A veteran of what? The largest welfare program in the world exclusively for young, healthy people?

  19. Bravo watchers know this family!!! The Westcotts are more notorious than any has-been pop star, and the fact that this man is being described as a “veteran” and not a “billionaire” is all you need to know.

So litigious they have threatened to shut down subs for even discussing them, they’re the Voldemort of multiple subs due to throwing around their PR and legal money.

  20. Who gives a shit if she sued a veteran? JD Vance is a veteran, so that means nothing.

  21. She should sue them next over this headline (mostly /s).. but seriously. This is wildly misleading.

  22. I don’t understand the fuss – people on both sides back out of real estate deals all the time, plus she up and bought another house in the same area shortly after. That $6M reduction for damages after signing papers is what gets me. Either agree to reverse or stick to the original purchase price. Finding $60-600K in damages makes some sense but $6M? That’s just greed.

  23. More like “creator of 1-800 flowers realizes he wanted to up sell house after selling”

  24. The man they are suing is the father-in-law of a Real Housewife of Dallas… lets just saying I’m rooting for Katy here.
