This concert will feature Néfur, Laglegt and Straff.
Harpa, in collaboration with the Reykjavík Music City, Rás 2 and Landsbankinn, is hosting Upprásinn, a concert series dedicated to grassroots Icelandic music, across musical genres. Upprásinn is now taking place for the third year in a row and a total of 27 bands will perform, three on each concert night.
The concert series is part of Harpa’s program strategy of improving access for grassroots and young people in all musical genres and increasing diversity. The goal is also that music enthusiasts can go and hear a variety of new Icelandic music, straight from the grassroots of the music scene, performed under ideal conditions in the nation’s music hall.
Ticket prices are only 2000 kr. but it is possible to contribute a higher amount during the ticket sales process, which will go directly to the artists.
Néfur
In Néfur’s soundscape, the artist’s voice and body intertwine with field recordings of endangered environments. In her art, Néfur works with environmental awareness, sensory connection to nature, and sexual empowerment. Néfur has composed for various media such as theater, film, and the concert hall, and has performed with musicians across Europe. She is currently releasing a new album that features recordings of glacier and voice. The Water, The Lover is a mythological journey through incarnation, deep emotions, and the erotic power of nature and humanity.
Laglegt
Laglegt is the stage name of Sigríður Langdal. Laglegt first gained attention when she shared raw recordings (voice memos) of songs she had been writing on Soundcloud. Laglegt’s lyrics draw on emotions such as heartbreak and societal barriers. She then sets the sad lyrics to lively melodies and steps onto the stage with a guitar in hand.
Straff
Straff is a brand new solo project from Björgúlfur Jes, singer and songwriter in the Icelandic rock band Spacestation. Straff was formed in January 2024 and the first song, “Alltof lykod, stundum” was released at the end of April 2025. The music can be described as electronic synth-rock with a very punk twist. There is a lot of emphasis on strange drum and synth soups that intertwine and are driven by simple and rhythmic kraut drum beats and catchy bass lines.
