Czechia’s state-backed operator Czech Railways (ČD) this week announced another big rolling stock tender, calling for up to 10 long-distance ComfortJet units. That’s only months after launching the largest rolling stock procurement in the country’s history. Clearly, ČD is beefing up its fleet in preparation for an increasingly open and potentially hostile rail market where private rivals are circling.
