Princess Beatrice isn’t and has never been a full-time working royal, instead serving as Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at the software company Afiniti. Now, in a big move for the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, it seems Beatrice is launching a new company alongside a senior executive at the World Economic Forum.Though Beatrice isn’t a working royal, she still has the important position as one of King Charles’s Counsellors of State.

Princess Beatrice has never been a full-time working royal, though there have certainly been rumors that that could happen someday, particularly once her cousin Prince William takes the throne. Though Beatrice and her sister Princess Eugenie often support the royal family—like at King Charles’s coronation or at garden parties at Buckingham Palace—both women have full-time jobs outside of the Firm, like Beatrice’s role as Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at the U.S. software company Afiniti.

Now, though, any chance of Beatrice making her full-time job royal work seems as far away as ever, as Hello! reported that she is launching a business and domestic software company, according to documents filed with Companies House. Documents show that Beatrice was appointed as a director at Purpose Economy Intelligence Ltd. in July, alongside Luis Alvarado Martinez, a Spanish-born senior executive at the World Economic Forum. Each will hold a 45 percent shareholder stake in the company, documents show, with the remaining 10 percent of the business held by Beatrice’s longtime private secretary Olivia Horsley.

Companies House documents reveal that Beatrice’s new venture will include “business and domestic software development,” “management consultancy activities other than financial management,” and “other information technology service activities.”

While becoming a working royal doesn’t seem to be in her future, Beatrice will remain busy with this new undertaking and her marriage to her husband of five years, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and being a mother to their daughters Sienna and Athena. She is also a stepmother to Edo’s son Wolfie from a previous relationship—breaking ground as the first of her generation of royals to become a stepparent.

Beatrice and Edo’s friend Juliet Angus told Hello! recently that “They’re the sweetest, and they’re adorable,” adding that, despite coming from a privileged upbringing, “I love their relationship and how cute and modern they are.”

“I love that they’re a blended family—rules don’t have to be such big rules anymore,” The Real Housewives of London star continued.

Though Beatrice isn’t a working royal, she does have an important duty she undertakes on behalf of the royal family: After her uncle King Charles became monarch in 2022, Beatrice was appointed as a Counsellor of State, which signifies that she could execute constitutional duties on behalf of the King should he be abroad or unwell.
