LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) – Protesters gathered in La Crosse during the Vice President’s visit.
Just minutes from where JD Vance spoke, over 150 protesters gathered at Copeland Park.
Many were protesting what they claimed would be the impact of the “Big Beautiful Bill” on Wisconsin’s health care. Others also say they’re tired of the ongoing trade war and that the Trump-Vance administration is prioritizing tax cuts for billionaires.
One woman says she came all the way from Milwaukee to advocate for democracy.
“I’m afraid that our way of life of democracy is being destroyed by this administration and I want to speak up while I certainly can,” said Katie Wagner.
The protest was billed as a peaceful and non-violent protest.
