  2. Need more context, but fuck anyone who burns the flag. You can be upset with certain people or issues, but the flag is more than just a moment in time.

  8. So if this is a crime, in the eyes of the law, there are people there witnessing it and doing nothing to put off the fire so shouldn't they be arrested too?

    Let's say somebody was there stabbing somebody and everybody was just watching and the cops come in and arrest the assualter, are they going to just let everybody else walk off for not helping?
    Isn't that a form of participation?

  14. The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in 1989 that burning the American flag is an act of political expression protected by the Constitution. Trump's executive order acknowledged that ruling, but said there is still room to prosecute flag burning if it “is likely to incite imminent lawless action” or amounts to “fighting words.”
