Air traveler recovers stolen luggage thanks to AirTag

Daniel Scott landed here at LAX around 10:30 Tuesday night. But let me show you where he found his luggage in this boarded up abandoned building at the corner of 98th in Sepulva, a half mile away. Daniel said he only found his luggage because he had an Apple Air Tag in his suitcase that allowed him to track the location. So after he noticed his suitcase and luggage left the airport, he followed it here and called police. Thankfully, LAX airport police showed up, detained several people inside this abandoned building, and recovered Daniel’s suitcase. The bad news, the thieves had already opened it up and helped themselves to what was inside. I think for me, the only thing I was thinking about was like, I just got to get my things back. And when they pulled up, they asked where it was. We were literally looking for it and then they shine they shine a light within the building. Um, and we saw some movement in the building. And then when the guys came to the window, they lined them up in the window. I saw the guy with my clothes on. He had my shoes on. He had my shirt on and my pants on. And I was like, “My bag is in there.” At the end of it, I got about 90% of my items back, which I was super happy

Before you head out the door for the Labor Day weekend, you may want to pack an AirTag if you have one.

A West Hollywood man was able to track down and recover his luggage after it was stolen from LAX’s carousel.

When he followed the movement, the Apple device indicated the suitcase was inside an boarded-up abandoned building.

  1. The real question is how did the thieves get his bag to begin with. Someone on the inside. Claiming bags as lost and helping themselves.

  2. Because thieves and homeless Outsiders come in and help themselves to the luggage carousel, people from outside should not be let in to the luggage carousel, just last week I was getting off of an airplane in San Diego I was held up because of a handicapped person was taking a long time to exit the plane giving thieves time to help themselves to luggage

  3. The workers must be all democrats just like the governor all good people having fun just like the governor with California 🤬🤬🤬🤬

  4. It’s a shame these things happen. And that the victims have to handle it. And that cities like this allow them to continue to happen. And then just tell the criminals, “be more careful next time. Don’t take so much so we can’t arrest you.” What a pitiful excuse for an American city and state. And they’re not the only ones. And this is the new normal…?

  5. Southern California is nothing but a shithole, and they say they don't need more police officers. They need some at the airports, obviously
