First day of September! The year is going far too quickly.

  2. Tis night here in the colonies. It was still 35C as well. I am ready for fall. It’s too hot! We have Labor Day here, which is a day off for some people. We got that that instead of labor laws.

  3. I’m a teacher, first day back. Y7 form ALL DAY. Telling them shite about which staircase they’re allowed to climb up / down, which toilets are for them, and they to behave for HOURS.

    To top it off, I’ve just caught a case of tonsilitis last week and my voice is very quiet and weak. I am in for a mad day aren’t I?

  4. Outdoors most of the day yesterday, and was so nice to be able to be out without melting 😀

    Early start today, in fact, I better go get showered – hope everyone’s week goes well.

  5. Office today, have to unload a car full of stuff from an event on Friday and then do a lot of event planning and risk assessing fit the next couple of months, whoop-de-frucking-do. On the plus side, it’s a lovely September morning here in North Yorkshire and a week of heavy showers will hopefully do a lot to deal with the massive wildfire on the North Yorkshire Moors 

  6. I was woken at 4am to a puking cat who continued on & off until about 20 minutes ago and is now asleep on the windowsill. Currently debating whether to risk 15 mins of the best sleep of my life only to be cruelly awakened by my alarm.

  8. I have had a lovely summer. I have had three “holidays” in the last month. I almost cried yesterday at the thought of September/Autumn. I have to do a full week at work this week. I am not looking forward to that.

  9. Up early today to get the train into the office as we have a new starter in the Team. Already forgotten which desk I’ve booked and then realised I’ve left my lunch in the fridge at home. I’ll have to find something to eat during the potentially rainy walk to the office.

  10. Got a week off work, so that’s nice. Taking the motorbike for an MOT in a few hours, then I’ll probably do a few odd jobs around the house before heading to the quiz at my local tonight.

  11. Just arriving at work. Got to prepare last minute bits for attending a friends wedding on Thursday

  13. Up at 0530 to get the train to work, but greeted by a beautiful sunrise to start the day in Gloucestershire so can’t complain. Actually excited for autumn, cooler weather and beautiful scenery to enjoy.

  14. New month, new workload at work! I’ll be doing that and hoping this weather cools off soon. I love autumn and love the cosy feeling that comes with it getting chillier

  15. Just a normal day at work for me ahead I’m guessing, possibly a long one, expected today.

    I had a missed call yesterday from my estranged father, number not recognised but he left a voicemail whilst I was out and about with my visiting in-laws who come once a year. He wants to visit in 2 weeks which is sudden. The timing should be ok but it’s gonna be weird, he’s not visited me since I moved to where I am 9 years ago (he visited a couple of times where I was before over 7 years but he’s been wrapped up with caring for his elderly mother who passed this year).

    I’m going to try and call him tonight to find out more info but I’m feeling very anxious about it. I’ve had bad dreams about him trying to move in with me since I was a kid.

  17. Cor blimey guvnor I feel blessed this morning. Sitting on the step of the motor home I live in having a coffee. Shipping out to my next destination today. Completed all my admin yesterday so just got to do the final checks and go. The suns out the sky is blue and I’m happy in my heart. Have a good week everyone.

  18. My son is back at school tomorrow, so today we’re going to the park, getting ice cream, having chips from the fish and chips shop, and maybe having a picnic

  19. Week off which is nice, although unresolved work issues are lurking like a rake in the grass for my return.

    It’s the lad’s first day at college today!

  21. Today is recreating a load of marketing emails in HubSpot day. Plus more meetings than I can rationally justify and just enough that I won’t actually finish the work I’m supposed to be doing.

    Love me a Monday – the bubonic plague day of the 14th century of the week.

  23. I’m about to go and ravage a hotel buffet breakfast. At 11 I have a massage booked at the spa, then I am heading home. Hoping I’ll take some of these chill out vibes back with me.

  24. I put my fleece dressing gown on this morning. I don’t care if everything from the thermometer in the living room to the weather forecast is telling me that it is 20°, autumn has crept into my bones already. I might unbox the thermals later.

    The Amazon Prime delivery that was first due on Friday between 2pm and 5pm on Friday is now expected today. I won’t be holding my breath.

  25. First day back after two weeks off.

    And I have to go in two hours early to sit in the annual safeguarding meetings.

    Today is going to be a long day.

  26. Had a lovely relaxing weekend with friends and good food. Very restorative!

    Now a full week of work, after a crap night’s sleep. The joys.

    On the bright side, there’s now less than a month to go until our trip to Japan, so I can start packing!!

  27. There’s still gas main works that has blocked off Kempshott Lane in Basingstoke, and you can’t even get through Heron Way now!!

    *mass hysteria*

    I do feel bad for the people going back to school today, but I am loving that Kempshott Lane isn’t being used as a shortcut and is mostly empty. Walking to Sainsbury’s to catch the bus is a bit shite though.
