DW Akademie in Moldova is seeking trainers for a series of interactive workshops focused on AI applications in journalism.

The rapid advancement of generative artificial intelligence (AI) presents both opportunities and challenges for the global information ecosystem. Newsrooms face a growing digital divide, with some able to invest in new technologies while others fall behind. The proliferation of disinformation, ethical concerns around automation, and potential algorithmic biases are leading to a decline in public trust in journalism.

To address these challenges, DW Akademie in Moldova is supporting its partner, the Moldova School of Journalism, in developing a series of interactive workshops focused on AI applications in journalism. These workshops will be part of two key events:

“Podcast Fest” – a one-day networking event for Moldova’s podcasting community”Shape the Future of Journalism: Using AI Tools to Your Advantage” – a three-day event aimed at equipping media professionals with practical AI skills.

The overarching objective of the project (2023-2025) is to bolster the Media and Journalism Education in Moldova by developing the Moldova School of Journalism to become an innovation center for quality journalism and thereby strengthen the quality of reporting by independent media professionals.

This will be achieved through the qualification of local trainers, the development of curricula tailored to specific needs, and the delivery of high-quality journalism education programs addressing the most pressing issues facing the media community.
