On September 1 in Brussels, a special session of the Ukraine–NATO Council is planned. Kyiv has initiated the meeting in response to massive Russian attacks and attempts to escalate the situation at the front. Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said on the X social network that the agenda will include joint steps and coordination of actions to pressure Moscow for refusing peaceful efforts and escalating terror against civilians.
“We are grateful to NATO and all allies who continue to demonstrate resolute support for Ukraine and meaningful peaceful efforts. Moscow must feel stronger pressure as a consequence of the continuation of the war,”

Chronicle of Events and Responses to the Threat
In the night of August 28, Russian forces carried out a combined air strike on Ukraine. The greatest destruction was recorded in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, where an entire entrance of a five-story building was destroyed.
In the morning of August 29, rescuers completed search-and-rescue operations under the rubble. They lasted more than 30 hours. Twenty-two residents of the building were killed, including four children.
In the capital, 25 people were killed as a result of the attack. Further statements and decisions regarding additional steps in response to the aggression and safety measures for the population are expected.
The international community is watching the developments, while Kyiv coordinates actions with allies to strengthen security guarantees and prepare citizens for potential threats. The authorities emphasize the need for strict readiness for any scenario and the protection of vital facilities and infrastructure.
