‘Every company wants to produce the last barrel sold’: the plan to create a fossil fuel non-proliferation treaty. The world is on track to produce 110% more oil, gas and coal by 2030 than we can ever burn if we want to keep global warming below 2C.

I thought we passed that mark?
Time to start merc’ing oil and gas executives.
To a certain degree the output will self-regulate. When demand drops massively due to electrification of road transport, supply will also drop, otherwise prices will collapse.
What about plastic?
it gets to a point where you begin to wonder of the people in charge are not actually some kind of alien engaged in a program to terraform the Earth into a warmer state that they’ll be happier living in, after they get rid of the indigenous humans, of course.
Future generations, if there will be much any, will hate us enormously for not fighting the oil industry sociopaths in a timely manner.
