  1. Decades of middling, uprooting, and installing puppet regimes.

Ahh. The “sIlEnCe oF ThE ArAb WeRLlLD”

  2. Elites in Middle Eastern and North African countries would rather cut business deals with one of the wealthiest countries in the region and stay on the good side of the US than help the downtrodden. I, for one, am shocked.

  3. Why is anybody expecting the countries that cracked down on the Arab Spring and oppressed minorities in their own countries to come to the rescue of the Palestinians?

  4. Hardly surprising. It’s been obvious for a long time Arab countries don’t care about Palestinians nor do they care much about human rights either (Assad managed to get back into the Arab League after a few years).  They were already normalizing relationships with Israel – this should be viewed as a delay.

Most of the previous actions against Israel failed and they were about Israel fighting the Arab countries, as opposed to being limited to Palestine.

Also who uses Tel Aviv as a metonym for Israel? The knesset isn’t there – made me subtlety question basic knowledge of the author

  5. Of course there is a silence! for many years leaders in middle east have been systematically targeted for subjugation whether through regime change, bombing into submission or economic and geopolitical suppression.

  6. Unfortunately, if you have an honest to goodness terror organization as your government it’s hard to find people to defend you.

Plus, examples like Jordan and Lebanon have shown Palestinian refugees/”freedom fighters” are threats to the host regime. No self-interested country would invite such in.

  7. The Arab leaders are puppets of western imperialism and Zionism. They hold their own people hostage for the sake the dollar and prevent any meaningful action on Palestine.

  8. I find it wild to think about how Israel’s biggest justification for all their atrocities is “WE ARE SURROUNDED BY EVIL FOREIGNERS WHO HATE US FOR NO REASON!”.

    meanwhile:

Lebanon: Their government is telling their army to do nothing while Israel bombs the capital and shoots civilians.

Jordan: Does nothing as Israel dumps Palestinians into the valley to force them into Jordan (and fucks with their water system for the benefit of colonials in the West Bank).

Syria: Now under a Jihadist government installed by the US and is submissive to all Israel’s agressions

Egypt: Helps them with their oppression of Gazans, despite Israel trying to fuck with their economy with a Negev canal

Saudi Arabia and their Gulf vassals: Do I even need to say more??

Trying to push forward Rhodesian-levels of “do unto others”-ism onto a region that is looooooooooong since capitulated to the idea of allowing an European ethnostate in the region to be built on Palestinian land.

  9. lol is this author really trying to say that a mere $10M investment from the UAE to a random Israeli company is the reason they won’t come to Palestinians’ aid?

None of these countries wanted to help Palestine before the Abraham Accords, either

  10. Yes besides we supported the Palestinians WAAY before it was cool and shed our blood in wars for them.

Yet still we have failed them, I truly wish our governments would do more for the Palestinians. If it offers any solace, the people are with them 💙

  11. Because it is not religion nor ethnicity nor heritage nor politics, etc. It is greed. Most rich people will take advantage of anyone as long as they profit in some way from it. Class warfare is worldwide.

  12. I mean, aside from Turkiye severing diplomatic and economic ties…and maybe Yemen cowing solidarity this is totally correct. Well, maybe you could say Iran was a bit vocal for a time. Syria was too. But aside from that no one.

Lebanon made a bit of a fuss, but they got bombed into silence. Jordan has been rumbling, but they are also receiving threats of destabilization and regime change from the Israelis.

But aside from those, totally silent but for diplomatic pressures for Hamas to ceed control over Gaza. Creating reconstruction initiatives and the 31 arab states publicly condemning the ongoing genocide.

    But aside from that.

  13. These arab countries are secretly very supportive of Israel getting rid of Hamas, but can’t announce it. As far as the civilian casualties, there is no good/harmless way to do it unfortunately… Hamas made sure of that in advance, ensuring civilian cost of their own.

  14. Didn’t these countries spend like several decades going to war with Israel on behalf of the Palestinians? What do people actually expect? Yeah, at some point they realized they were gaining nothing for themselves or the Palestinians and decided to move on.

  15. As an Arab I am deaply ashamed and frustrated, we really need a massive change in government, our last foray went terribly wrong and produced worse government. Next revolution will come sooner or later and it won’t be clean, blood need to spilled. This is not just about Palastine, the rot is deep and a lot of wasted potential. Imagine the kind of contribution we could have provided to the world at large if the wealth wasn’t wasted by royals and dictators.
