Ukrainian defense company Fire Point, best known for developing the Flamingo cruise missile, is preparing to open a production line for solid rocket fuel in Denmark, according to Danish broadcaster DR on September 2.
The facility is scheduled to begin operations on December 1, 2025. This marks the first known case of a Ukrainian defense enterprise establishing manufacturing operations inside Denmark.
According to DR, the new site will be located near Skrydstrup Air Base, home to the Royal Danish Air Force’s fleet of F-35 fighter jets. Fire Point has already created a Danish subsidiary, FPRT, registered under a local CVR number and launched its official website, fprt.dk.

The company’s focus will be on the production of solid rocket fuel—a stable, storable propellant that does not require refueling before launch and ensures consistent combustion. The same type of fuel powers Fire Point’s Flamingo missile.
Production will operate under Denmark’s new defense law, which takes effect in September, DR noted. The legislation allows the government to bypass certain regulations and citizen complaints if a project is deemed critical for national defense or civil security.

An internal government memo seen by DR instructed ministries to consider whether exemptions should be granted to keep the Fire Point project on schedule.
FPRT stated that its products will support programs with “vital importance for Denmark’s defense.” Testing of components will be conducted at separate facilities, independent from the main plant.
Denmark’s Ministry of Defense is reportedly considering the use of the Ukrainian-produced fuel for PULS rocket artillery systems recently purchased from Israel’s Elbit Systems. If approved, this would pave the way for localized production of advanced munitions.
Earlier, reports emerged that it took less than nine months to go from concept to the first combat use of Ukraine’s new long-range cruise missile, the “Flamingo,” according to Fire Point CEO Iryna Terekh.
The Kyiv-based defense firm developed and unveiled the missile, which is now already in serial production. Terekh said Fire Point plans to scale output to around 200 units per month by October.
