Got this waffle at a Dnt cabin and the staff said the topping is locally made. I didn’t hear him well but it tastes like some kind of cream cheese. Now i’m looking to buy some to bring home.
It’s probably rømme, a norwegian milk product. It is good with jam on waffles-:)
Sour cream is a popular topping on Norwegian waffles.
But it looks like they added some cinnamon or something – perhaps a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar? I am just guessing.
I also immediately thought of Innerdalen – best waffles in the world there! I think it’s seterrømme which is a very high-fat thick sour cream. If it’s Innerdalen, then they make it locally there, so you won‘t find in the shops (can buy the store-brand one, but it’s not the same)
If it is cinnamon powder on top then the white stuff is rømme.
Would guess either rømme or maybe gomme? Namdalsgomme is often soft served with cinnamon.

Was it sour or sweet?
